To
start with I am going to set aside some 24hr sessions to fish my 1 acre
carp and catfish lake.
For
a sensible donation to Cancer Research via my fundraiser page (soon to
be added once the page has been certified) you will be able to fish the
lake either on your own, with mates or in a group. A maximum of four anglers
will be able to fish per session so you will have lots of room to relax
and enjoy your visit.
The
lake is a syndicate so, fishing will have to be during the week to be
fair to my members who normally fish at the weekend.
The
lake website address is http://www.carpenwater.co.uk
Thank you for taking the time to read this page and I look forward to
hopefully meeting some of you at the lake.
Thanks
again and good luck with your fishing

Fishing
challenge
The Fishing Challenge was the last event on the list and was not as
easy as it sounds. The plan was to catch a carp or catfish whilst
blind folded and land it without seeing a thing. We arrived at Carpenwater,
the chosen location as it is one of the most highly stocked waters
I fish which would save time blind folded on the bank. I fished with
two rods to improve chances of a take, which did not take long. The
first rod was baited with a immuno-stim boilie and cast to the reeds
on the far bank, well as close as I could get it whilst blind folded.
The second rod was baited with a catcatcher bait and cast into open
water. After a few minutes the first rod was away and I was into the
first fish. Thinking this was going to be quite easy as most of my
fishing is done at night well, the fish had me all over the place!
After playing it in the margins for a while the hook pulled and off
it went, oh well. The rod was rebaited with another immuno-stim boilie
and cast roughly to the same spot. After an hour it was off again
but this time it was a much smaller fish which was much easier to
control and get safely in the net. Once again thanks to all who sponsored
this event and thank you to Caroline for taking the pictures and passing
me the net.

Not as
easy as it looks playing fish blind folded. |

Horse
ride
This was the scariest thing I have done for ages! The first thing
to do was to collect my trusty mode of transport, Boris and lead
him to the stables to ready him for the ride. After a quick brush
down the saddle and reins went on then it was time climb on board.
Once on Boris new he had a complete novice on his back he started
to have some fun with me! All I could do was hold tight to the saddle
and pray I stayed on, luckily he settled down and I began my ride
around the farm. All went really well thanks to Sue my Horsey friend
and her very understanding horse. A big thank you to Ashley who
joined me on this event, she was so brave and also raised some money
of her own to add to the total. I would like to thank all who sponsored
us and a big thank you to Sue Boris and Murphy.

8

Another event completed, the sponsored walk from Clacton Pier to Walton
Pier ( about 8 miles). The walk took around 3 hours to complete with
a few stops on the way for refreshments. A big thank you to all who
sponsored us and to all who took part.

Day
as a Lady
A couple of pics from first challenge, spending a day at work in a
dress, stockings, heels, full make up and a wig.
I think it will take a long time to live this one down! All for a
good Charity though and it did raise quite a bit of money :)

15
mile Bike Ride
The sponsored bike ride from Clacton Pier to Walton Pier and back
again. The total distance for the ride was 15 miles and took us
around 90 mins to complete the challenge. The bike ride was finished
off with some hot fresh donuts from Clacton Pier, my favourite!
Now on with the sponsored walk next weekend.
